Meet With Miyuki

Lurking along the shadows and hiding out in the tall grasses near the temple ruins is a mighty young huntress, her precision hunting skills among the best, she would slowly creep towards her prey, her mitts grazing lightly across the earth like feathers across skin. With bright orangish-red colored fur accented by charcoal black stripes to blend in perfectly with her surroundings she would tackle her prey to the ground and bring in the swift killing blow, placing a powerful mitt atop her kill her burning gold ambers would scan out among the jungle and her auds would swivel in search of danger, her tassle flicking gently behind her as if it had a mind of its own. Though a mighty huntress, she is gentle to those she loves and nearly as playful as they come, she'd do about anything just to get the attention of others when none was being given to her. This striking young femora is none other then the four year old Miyuki, also know as Miyu, a resident tigress at the temple ruins where the rest of the tigers reside. She is the younger sister to Rajah and Shasdee, and would do just about anything for her fellow tiger friends.

Miyuki is 7 1/2ft long from nose to tassle tip and weights about 251lbs.

Meet With Avarius

How a Siberian lives in the world of bengals.

Avarius's story begins a few years before he was born, his parents Sarafina and Karkerov were born in the wilds of the southern most part of Russia and captured a few years apart by poachers when they were cubs and were eventually sold to a traveling Russian circus as animal performers for the greedy twoleggers called Man. The Russians, knowing that the siberian tigers were the largest of all the tiger sub-species decided to travel all throughout China to show off the size of their mighty tiger performers. Sarafina and Karkerov were forced to do many inhumane tricks for the twoleggers enjoyment, such as jumping through flaming hoops, and were horribly abused by their trainers. Their lives not their own. When Sarafina was nearing the age of 12 and Karkerov nearing the age of 15, the train they were on crashed near the Burma and China boarders where the two escaped into the wilderness and ran as far as they could until a year later when they came across a majestic looking temple in northern Burma, the tiny temple made of white marble and seemingly unaged by the jungle overgrowth looking newly built despite that it was built many hundreds of years ago. A year later the pair gave birth to two male cubs, Avarius and Kenzule. But shortly after their birth their father Karkerov traveled into the jungle to catch a meal for his small family and was never seen again. Sadly when Kenzule and Avarius were only a few months old poachers came and stole Kenzule away, but Avaruis and his mother managed to escape. Sarafina, her heart broken forever by the loss of her beloved companion Karkerov and young son Kenzule managed to raise Avarius until he was old enough to hunt on his own and then she herself soon disappeared from Avarius's life forever.
The harsh reality hit Avarius as he had no family or friends. Filled with hate toward other tigers, he stayed far from them, and isolated himself to his own temple home. The years would go by, and slowly he began to wonder what other tigers were like. One day another male tiger - older, and seemingly stronger than him came to his temple. At first Avarius welcomed the visitor, wanting a friend now. However, the tiger only attacked him to try to take his home. Filled with buried rage from all his life, the other tiger didn't stand a chance. It would take another year for him to finally venture out into the jungle beyond his hunting grounds. Avarius soon stumbled upon another temple, full of many tigers where he met a tigress named Rajah and her sisters Shasadee and Miyuki, they were extremely kind to him and offered him a home among themselves and the rest of the tigers at their temple. Avarius was overjoyed at the idea of meeting tigers that could be his friends and shortly after being at their temple he met the young and very beautiful Zahara, a 5 year old Golden Bengal Tabby Tigress. In awe of her beauty and excitement for adventure, Avarius knew he absolutely had to get to know her, Her playfulness and adventurous spirit calling to him, as he had never met such a tiger as she. Avarius soon found himself not able to leave her side but for maybe long enough to hunt, and was completely overjoyed at the way she seemed to glow like a bright light under his constant attention and they soon became tight companions. After stumbling upon the Temple of the Tigers and meeting his adored companion, Avarius is now learning how to live, and how to be a tiger once again. Avarius and Zahara still sometimes visit Avarius's first temple home.

Avarius is 10ft long from nose to tassle tip and weights roughly about 610lbs.

Meet With Kashi

Kashi was born as a performing animal and HATED it. At the first chance she got, she ran from that life. Unfortunately to achieve that chance she had to attack a human (twolegs). That caused a commotion and she was hunted through every area where humans lived, until she finally came to the tiger temple after traveling for many hundreds of miles. The temple has been a great blessing to her life ever since. She is free from both a cage and threat of abuse or death by twolegs. Also at the temple, she met her beloved companion Taiken and his daughter Nursha. She went from having no family to a complete one. It has become more complete now that she has a litter of her own.

Meet With Di`Nadu

When Di`Nadu was 4½ months old he watched not only his mother, but also his father be slain by poachers, and his siblings be carried off by them. A smart young cub for his age his instincts told him to hide and he remained as the only one within his family left. Lost and with no one to care and look after him Di`Nadu ventured out on his own into the woods, where he spent nights in caves and under bushes along the jungle floor, he would feed off the old carcuses left behind by other predators, and small critters along the ground that were slow enough for him to catch. Di`Nadu carried on this way for nearly a month, hidding in the bushes when his instincts told him to hide, and often waiting sometimes for days for larger predators to finish with their meals so he could eat off the bones, and catching whatever small critter he could in order to feed himself. Di`Nadu eventually caught the scent of other tigers and followed it unto the temple ruins where out in the open lounging in the sun he met Rajah and Shasadee as well as a few others, and has ever since been a tiger of the temple, he now depends on his tiger friends that are his new largely extended family for protection, food, love and support. (Di`Nadu has been with us since Feburary 20, 2006.)

Meet With Rajah

White Rajah

Rajah, one of the most noblest of tigers would be considered to be the most caring and giving of tigers at the temple, born at the temple where the fellowship of tigers now resides, she and her sisters after careful thought decided to make it a place for all tigers to come and be at peace. Rajah can usually be found resting atop a piece of ancient temple wall over looking the grounds of the temple and carefully watching all that goes on. Her love, care and devotion to the rest of the tiger community is what she feels to be her responsibility, she places the wellfare of all the others before her own. When she is not watching the others and caring for her young or sharing close times with her beloved companion Ru`Kahn, she exemplifies a true huntress, attacking her prey like a ghost lurking in the jungle with reflexes that allow her to find and dodge her prey without fail and a swiftness to be believed only with ones own eyes; thus truly living up to one of the many given names for her fur color, 'Ghost tiger'. This true Tigress of Tigers is a royal gem to the temple, her subdued nobility and heartfelt giving attracts all tigers unto her. As a companion she gives of her heart and soul totally, never expecting to recieve in return. Her warmth and soulful happiness pervaides the temple area with a subtle yet tangible feeling of home.

Rajah is about 8ft long from nose to tassle tip and weighs about 294lbs, she has very light pale greenish-white colored orbs, her fur color is tinged slightly yellow from years in the sun, with stripes so light in color they mostly blend in with the rest of her fur color, however if one looked close enough they might be able to see the hint of a stripe or two.

Kind Of Tigers

(From Left to Right) Ghost Tiger, White Tiger, Tabby Tiger and Classic Tiger
Tigers come in a few different Coat colors, here are a few of them. There are the snow tiger or ghost tiger which can sometimes be called pure white or all white. The standard white tiger with black stripes, which some may have light to dark brown stripes. The golden tabby which is also called the strawberry tiger. The classic orange with black stripes. Then the rarest melanistic or black tigers, and albino tigers. And the Maltese tiger which have a blueish tint to their fur where a classic tiger would be orange, these tigers have never been fully proven to exsist, yet so many sightings have been seen many many years ago that its believed they are in fact real, weather they are exstinct or not has yet to be known.

The Rare Snow White Tiger:
Contrary to popular belief the snow tiger or ghost tiger is not albino. Snow Tigers do have visable stripes though many only have stripes visable above the eyes and on the tail, some even only on their tails. Albinos lack stripes completely. Though the same as the white tiger but with less stripes and or less visable stripes; snow tigers are ten times more rare

White Tigers:
Only the bengal tigers and siberian tigers are known the produce white tigers, both parents must carry a specific gene in order for a white tiger to be produced. White tigers can have stripes that are anywhere from a black to a light tan color. In fact the snow tigers are the same as white tigers but are just set aside as being different from them because they have less stripes and or less visable stripes.

Golden Tabby or Strawberry tigers:
Like the white tigers it is believed that in order for a golden tabby to be produced both parents must carry a special gene. Tabby tigers are orange with anywhere from dark tan to light tan stripes. Tabbies are much more rare then the white tigers.

Classic Tigers:
Classic tigers are the first tigers that are thought of when someone mentions the word 'tiger'. Their color can range anywhere from dark orange(almost red) to a light orange, and always have black stripes.

Melanistic tigers or black tigers:
Melanistic is a term used for an over grownth of pigment, its pretty much the opposite of ablonisium which lacks pigment. Melanistic tigers are almost all black with orange to yellow stripes mainly on its underside. Some might believe melanistic tigers to be a myth but pelts have been recovered in the early to mid 1900's that prove their exsistnace. No live Melanistic tiger has been captured or seen since.

Albino tigers:
Albino tigers and Snow white tigers are often mistaken for one another, the best way to tell them apart is to look at the tails, abino tigers have no stripes. If one was to shave a snow white tiger the skin would show visable stripes even if they cant be seen when the animal is not shaved, an albino will not have any stripes even on their skin, and their skin will be pink. Their noses and lips will also be pink with no other pigmentation, however contrary to popular belief and unlike most albino animals the albino tigers are said to have faint blue eyes rather then red. If you find this out for sure let us know.

Maltese Tigers:
Maltese Tigers were reported being seen in Malta in the early 1900's, no pelt nor live maltese tiger have ever been recovered or caputred and most people believe the tiger to be a myth, accoring to those who have said to have seen the tiger it is real and does truly exsist. It is believed that if the Maltese Tiger is real that it's blue coloration is a pigment mutation similar to Melanisium and albonisium. If the Maltese Tigers are in fact real and are a pigment mutation like melanisium and ablonisium then all species of tigers should be able to produce maltese tigers. But like the Melanistic tigers they are seemingly elusive. Some believe that the Maltese tiger may have once lived but is now exstinct. We may never know. Myth? Legend? Real? Or Exstinct? What is your belief?.
